“DOC” Sand

While walking on the soft sand of Bibione and enjoying the warm sun beams and the fresh sea breeze, it´s difficult to realise that this sand comes directly from the Friulian Dolomites, it flows along the Tagliamento River, through the Pianura Padana and down to the sea.

The sand of Bibione has a complete local origin, with no artificial addition, living perfectly together with the natural environment and the biodiversity. That´s why we can state it´s a DOC (Controlled designation of origin) Sand of certified origin, that has to be protected like water, air and all other vital elements of the eco-system in Bibione.

The sand has created a wide seashore that offers you modern equipment and a dog-friendly beach, as well as a free and wilder area to enjoy peaceful and quiet corners among dunes and green bushes of the Mediterranean vegetation. The lighthouse is the most fascinating area of the seaside, in close contact with nature. Just follow the shady paths stretching sinuously among the woods. Here, under the sunbeams, you will hear only the sound of waves shattering on the shoreline.
